This workshop is for painting and decorating concrete pumpkins with dried flowers, moss, and other natural items.

Please wear something old in case you get paint on yourself as we do not have aprons yet to protect your clothing. Our building is not yet heated so it might be a good idea to wear some layers if the temperature is cool.

We’ll create 2-4 pumpkins with a lightweight concrete mix that can handle the elements of the outdoors and last many years. The number of pumpkins you create will depend on the size you make them.

This is a 2-part workshop held on 2 days. Part 1 (Saturday, August 31 at 2 pm) will consist of creating the size and shape of your pumpkins (allow 2 hours).

Part 2 (24 hours later) (Sunday, September 1 at 2 pm) will be removing the substrate and attaching the stem and then you can take them home. I don’t expect part 2 to take longer than 30-45 minutes.

It takes 28 days for the pumpkins to fully cure. At that time you can decorate to your heart’s desire or you may sign up for our workshop to decorate your pumpkins with dried florals as shown in the image with the wooden box on September 5th.

This is a messy project and I recommend wearing old clothes and shoes. We will be standing for the majority of the time but chairs will be available if you need to sit.  Weather permitting we will also be outside so please dress appropriately for the temperature.

Feel free to bring a beverage of your choice. We’ll be wearing gloves and recommend leaving any rings at home that may tear the gloves.

The deadline to register is 24 hours before the workshop starts. The workshop is limited to 10 participants.

Here are just a few ways that the pumpkins can be decorated after they are fully cured:

Hey Parents! Looking for a unique and eco-friendly activity for your kids? Join us for a hands-on workshop where kids will color a pre-printed vase and add real flowers to it while exploring our flower field!

The kids will use crayons, a pencil, scissors and tape during this workshop. A parent must be in attendance at all times, most importantly to help younger children in the field to cut flowers for their card.

Each vase card is $10. Order the number of vase cards you’ll need for each person who will be filling a card with flowers.

Choose a payment method during the registration checkout. Our preference is for you to pay with cash when you arrive. You can pay with a credit card during checkout with an additional fee added.
